Since then, Furniture Plus has grown tremendously, becoming so successful that in 1996 CBA became part of the greater Furniture Plus organization. In addition to the contract furniture focus of Furniture Plus Design, Charles continues to provide award-winning interior design services for Residential and Commercial clients alike, specializing in homes, offices and restaurants.

Charles was the founding president of the Historic Hawaii Foundation, a statewide preservation organization. He is active in many local community service organizations, including the Metropolitan Rotary Club of Honolulu and the Mission Houses Museum.
